BookPress is not a hosting company and does not sell hosting. It is software that hosting providers run on their own infrastructure: a native implementation of WordPress core that serves existing sites from the same database, themes and URLs. So if you manage client sites and want them faster, we are not the ones you buy from. Your host is.

What to ask them

Ask whether they will run BookPress for your brochure and business sites. The pitch that matters to them is density: the same sites on a fraction of the hardware, which is margin they keep. The pitch that matters to you is that nothing about your work changes. Same themes, same /wp-admin, same URLs, same database.

Two questions worth asking alongside it. Which of my plugins are supported? BookPress certifies every plugin before it runs and names the ones it cannot, so this has a real answer rather than a shrug. And how do we go back? The answer should be that BookPress exports a MySQL dump WordPress loads directly, so a site can return to a PHP stack whenever you want, with tooling you already have.

Licensing for individual site owners is coming. Today we work with hosting providers only, because that is where the software is deployed and supported. Say so and we will write to you when that changes.
